Ramón Franco was born as a traditional cannery in 1961 after a decade of experience in mussel cultivation in the fruitful Ría de Arousa, located in Galicia, Spain.

With the third generation already incorporated, is the fruit of the tenacity of a family with a long tradition and close ties to the sea, supported by a group of sailors and canners who contribute their experience and knowledge both on land and at sea.

In the waters of the Ría, mussels cling to the ropes hanging from the rafts. From the land the slow growth is patiently followed, which, over two years, results in excellent specimens.

Day by day, the growth of the mussels is controlled and from the sea to the preserve, the origin of each piece is known with certainty. Between the months of July and February the mussel is in optimal conditions.

From the ropes to the boat and from the boat to the workshop. The freshest mussels in the Ría are prepared to give their best.

Mussels in the expert hands of artisans, who select, clean and place the pieces in each can by hand.

The mussels are delicately washed, steamed and then cleaned by hand, so as to remove any impurities and to not cause damage to the product.

Ramón Franco presents the best pickled mussels in the Ría de Arousa, bathed in pickled sauce made with a traditional recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Ramón Franco has a rigorous selection of all ingredients, applying the strict controls of the European quality certification ISO 9001.
